Another hot week in the valley, yesterday the thermometer on my back porch, which is in the shade in the afternoon, was 32 degrees. Hot, Hot, Hot!!
The mauve lilacs are starting to turn brown but the double white have come out and are beautiful. We have a limited supply of bouquets available so stop by and pick one up. The scent is amazing.
One of my pink peony is starting to show colour, so it will not be long before we have peony's available for bouquets. Most of the hostas are full out, the chives and columbines are in bloom. Also the hydrangea's and sweet william are starting to bloom. Everything is a couple weeks earlier than last year, which was an early hot year.
Available fresh this week are the following:
bouquets of white lilac, solomen's seal and lily of the valley.
fresh baking: strawberry oat scones, hazelnut chocolate chip cookies and rhubarb tarts
Mothers day is May 8th and Willow Creek Vineyard is an interesting place to bring your mother to browse and enjoy baked treats with a coffee or tea. I will be baking extra for that weekend and our lounge will be set up to take advantage of this great weather.
